Adventure Hiking Trail

A 25 mile loop trail located in the Harrison-Crawford
State Forest/Wyandotte Woods State Recreation Area
Complex. Much of the trail follows natural escarpments
overlooking the Ohio and Blue Rivers and Indiana Creek.

The Hoosier National Forest

Covers almost 200,000-acres in Southern Indiana. The 21
different trail systems total approximately 200 miles,
and hikers can explore off-trail in most areas. Some trails
are open to mountain bikers and horse riders. Two long-
distance trails to look for: The Hickory Ridge Trail
system, offering 43 miles through scenic hardwoods, and
the German Ridge Trail, a 23 mile system through

The Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore

Covers approximately 11,900 acres along the shores of
Lake Michigan in Lake, Porter, and LaPorte counties.
Footpaths have been developed through most of the
sand dunes, wetlands, and bogs. Superintendent, Indiana

Knobstone Trail

At 58 miles, Indiana's longest footpath winds through rugged,
forested knobs in Clark, Scott, and Washington counties. Two
loop trails of six and eight miles are on the north end of the

Salamonie Trail

A 22 mile loop trail for all seasons. Hike through
Wabash and Huntington counties from April through
November. Snowmobile from December through March
(weather permitting). Parts of the trail are also open for
